If there’s anyone who can display any similarities to the powers of Superman, that’ll have to be KAWS himself. The Brooklyn based artist is everywhere these days as he makes an effort to expand his brand and name stateside, and with a recent opening at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, KAWS is attempting to leave his mark on the Big Apple by having a pair of gallery shows at Mary Boone Gallery and Galerie Perrotin, which are simultaneously up and running now, featuring towering wooden “Companion” sculptures and a couple of intriguing pieces dubbed the “Pass the Blame”. In case you weren’t one of the ones to attend, the Hundreds has a few flicks of what KAWS has been cooking up down below. The Mary Boone Gallery is located at 541 West 24th Street, while Gallery Perrotin is located at 909 Madison Ave. The exhibition closes December 21st.
