Alicia with Swizz celebrating their anniversary this past Tuesday at midight
A new haircut isn’t the only thing Alicia Keys is debuting these days. The Grammy Award winning songstress, who recently released a summery heater “New Day,” in which 50 Cent and Dr. Dre later hopped on, will once again let fans get a taste of more new material come this September 6th via the MTV Music Awards. Speaking exclusively to MTV, Alicia balled as she talked about her previous experience of premiering material at the VMAS (ala “No One” in 2007), and promised this empowering number will be “crazy.” We’ll be the judge come September 6th, as the Awards will be going down at 8pm EST live from the Staples Center.
Debuting a new song at the VMAs is definitely special. I debuted ‘No One’ at the VMAs — it was the first time anyone in the world heard ‘No One,’ Keys said. “It’s the perfect setting. It’s the right energy. It’s the right vibe. People are so excited about the night of music and hearing different styles that it just goes over really well. I can’t wait!”
“I’m in my space and I feel more confident than ever to really just have a crazy, fun time,” Keys said of performing at the Video Music Awards. “It’s so exciting to bring people into my world and where I’ve been and what I’ve been working on. And there’s no better place in the whole wide world than the VMAs to do that, so it’s gonna be crazy!”
