Wearing a homemade Charlie Hebdo shirt, Louis C.K. took the stage on January 7th for the first of (now) three stand-up shows at Madison Square Garden. Unlike the spectacle that was the Aziz Ansari MSG HBO Stand-up Special taping I posted about previously, Louis’ stage had nothing but a stool and a water bottle. He kept it old school and focused on nothing but his comedy, leaving the flashy production to the young guns. Louis had the audience relating to his life struggles, laughing at his inappropriate jokes and in awe of his honesty and humor.
With no money put towards marketing or promotion for these string of MSG shows, Louis has managed to sell out the first, the second, and is on his way to selling out the third. If he does so, he will be the first comedian to sell out three shows in one month at MSG.
If you have not already seen Louis C.K. or do not already have tickets for this Wednesday’s show, grab tickets to see him on the 24th before it’s too late by clicking, here.
