As ticket prices continue to soar, attendance rates continue to drop for the Great White Way. A new report shows a 6% decline in sales over the last season, the second year in a row that ticket sales have fallen.
Theater buffs and execs place the blame on some bad shows in the fall half of the May-to-May season, along with the infamous Hurricane Sandy damage. However, despite the decline, the numbers are still pretty good. The Broadway League reports 11.6 million people spent $1.1 billion on tickets over the past year.
