The bodies of two bound, gagged and burned African-American men were discovered early this morning off the Belt Parkway in Queens when firefighters responded to a call. After putting out the small brush fire, the men stumbled upon the bodies, sitting in the charred grass near Spring Creek Park.
“My guess is that they weren’t there very long because the fire was started, apparently, to cover up the crime,” said Queen District Attorney Richard Brown.
A homicide investigation is under way. The bodies will go to the medical examiner’s office for autopsies to determine their identities and the cause of death.
