Rihanna recently launched a red lipstick with M.A.C. dubbed RiRi Woo, and the cosmetics company had reps at her Barclays Center shows earlier this month to let fans test out some samples. Looks like the proper protocol for giving out lipstick samples wasn’t used, as a woman is now claiming she got herpes from her tester.
Starkeema Greenidge says in a new lawsuit that a rep directly applied the lipstick to her upper lip (instead of using an individual swab), and told her to press her lips together and spread it around. The next day, “My whole lip was irritated and hugely swollen,” Greenidge said. Upon a visit to her doctor, she found out she had herpes. She is now suing M.A.C. Cosmetics, Inc for unspecified damages.
