Jason Kidd is being “seriously considered” for the position of head coach with the Brooklyn Nets. The retired NBA star met with Nets’ general manager Billy King on Monday to pitch the idea, revealing part of his plan would be hiring former Nets coach Lawrence Frank to serve as as a top assistant coach.
The meeting with King was apparently just supposed to be an open-ended discussion about Kidd working for the Nets, but he is determined to convince King that he’s ready to coach after his retirement last week.
Despite heavy interest in Kidd, the team will interview Brian Shaw on Wednesday. However, a decision is likely to be made this week.
