Bleecker Street Records May Be Closing Their Doors After 20 Years NYC

Standing as a staple of music for over 20 years, Bleecker Street Records’ 239 Bleecker St. location may soon be closing when their lease is up.

Jeremy Ezra, an agent with the retail brokerage RKF, revealed that the space will be available for $27,000 per month starting in April. “There’s been significant interest [in the space],” he added. “There have been all sorts of uses [proposed] there, from fashion to food.”

But employees at the shop say there’s still a chance they’ll remain there! They say the owner is currently deciding whether he will renew the lease, despite the large hike in rent, or seek another location in the city.
