Chinx Drugz has seen it all in his 29 years. From the untimely death of his longtime friend and Riot Squad leader Stack Bundles, to the unfortunate incarceration of his pal Max B, the man now known as simply Chinx, is the focal subject for Frank 151’s Street Is Watching piece, as he candidly opens up about his humble beginnings in Far Rockaway, Queens, meeting French Montana for the first time, and how Max B’s jail time actually led to him linking with the Coke Boys’ movement. In the meantime, fans can expect some new music from Chinx, as he preps the official independent release of his project I’ll Take It From Here due out November 26th.
On his humble beginnings and growing up in the poverty stricken parts of Far Rockaway:
“I don’t want to fit in,” he says. “I want people to respect my music. I have the drive to be original and to stay true to who I am as a person and as an artist, and not create a gimmick with my artistry.”
On meeting French Montana and creating music with him:
“I guess they say real recognizes real, and what is understood doesn’t need to be explained. We never talked about doing business on any level, we just kept recording after Max got locked up and we were just putting out the music that we were making.”
