Kanye’s tumultuous relationship with the fashion world has undergone its fair share of ups and down over the years, with the Chicago rapper dibble and dabbling into ventures for his kicks and several other endeavors with clothing as well.
The boisterous rapper has been adamant on making his mark on the fashion world, equipped with his billion dollar dreams to boot, and for whatever reasons “they will not let” Ye in the door in certain situations, or for that matter, grant him the power Yeezus needs. That’s quite the irony, huh?
So, while he was on 92.3 Now speaking on, uh, fashion—he touched upon topics such as being snubbed by high-end brands like Louis Vutton and Nike—to which the fallout between and the latter has led to him inking a deal with their competition adidas. He announces that deal as well in this convo (above). He also makes it clear that folks should indeed boycott Louis Vutton until January, well, just because they didn’t want to take a meeting with him.
A few excerpts from that is below:
“While I was in Paris I wanted to meet the head of Louis Vuitton and he said, ‘I don’t understand why we need to meet with you?’ I said, ‘Let me explain to you why you need to meet with me.’”
“Everybody in New York City right now, don’t buy any Louis Vuitton until after January. Now do you wanna meet with me?” Kanye added. “Influence. They think that I don’t realize my power. They want to marginalize me.”
Oh, that Kanye. And just yesterday, when passionately talking about…you guessed it…fashion, the man known as Yeezus raised his voice and set it off on his own friend Sway, sending a few jabs his way about his lack of knowledge about fashion and so forth on (after Sway stated Ye should do some of these fashion [moves] on his own w/o the bigger brands).
But fortunately, Sway and he squashed it and the rest is history. Get a dosage of that after the cut, too. It’s Yeezus’ world so you better see your way out of it, right? Seems about right.
