
Plans for South Street Seaport’s Pier 17 have been unanimously approved…but two things didn’t make it to the table. The controversial signage they’d been planning (above is a mockup) had been met with a lot of resistance from neighbors, so they’ll be happy to know it won’t be happening. The other modification is that the pier must incorporate moorings for maritime use. Construction on the redesign is set for July 1st and will include a new shopping mall with a 10,000-square-foot roof space and a food market in the pier-neighboring Link Building.
