Prison inmates at Rikers Island need to occupy their time somehow, and one such way is by taking a class on fashion theory, taught by Anna Lynett Moss of the handbag line Chiyome. The course is a part of the Prison Education Initiative.
It’s currently filled with 30 female students, and a typical day ranges from analyzing cultural identity and the Burberry Prorsum resort collection, to looking at body image through the lens of The Row. Anna explains more on the course here.
