Bookstores are becoming a rarity in the day of the tablets and smart phones, and now one of the few Barnes & Noble locations left in New York has shut down. Sending the message loud and clear, the door on the 6th Avenue location boasts and sign that simply says, “Closed Forever,” with a stack of Nooks sitting by a garbage can. An additional sign adds that they’re “dunzo,” and thanks patrons for the last 12 years. It also promotes the Barnes & Noble site.
