The music industry and the world, has yet to experience a Hip Hop group since the launch of Wu-Tang Clan. Rack’d Up is not just a group of artists, they are innovators that incorporate their audience into a #RackdUp family. We interviewed the American Hip Hop group hailing from the Bronx in New York City, and here’s all the 411 on the group as they share with us what is the #RackdUp lifestyle.
What does #RackdUp lifestyle mean?
“It’s about ambition and dedicated to whatever it is that you do in life.” – Haddy Racks “Rack’d Up refers to keeping on a positive notion, vibes, success at your highest ability.” – Lee Majors We are not just giving 50%, but more than 100% and this is what the whole movement is about. We represent a positive influence to inspire our fans and family.
What was your life before RackdUp came to be? What was the hustle?
We aren’t different from a majority of other people in the urban areas. We were in the streets, individually hustling with our music, doing our own thing. When we came together we realized the greater potential to inspire and motivate people, to bring a movement back into urban music that has been lacking for a while now.
How did you guys come together?
We came together with cipher in Harlem 2011/2012 starting with Hellbound June. In the studio we just locked in from there, Haddy Racks met Lee Major through June. Bangdana and Haddy linked up together through social network althouth we knew of one another, we hadn’t been in the lab or worked on a collaboration with each other at that point. Yungy and Flip came onboard through a video shoot. Randy Christian, a mutual friend came on board and came through the studio end 2013.
What neighborhoods/buildings/streets are you holding it down for?
We represent the Bronx as a whole, Randy reps both Harlem and Brooklyn on the R&B side. We like to think we are the new face of New York City, we don’t want to Mitchell Projects, Harlem, Monroe by themselves – we incorporate all parts of the city as a bigger picture.
Are you collaborating with any other artists? Mainstream or from the town?
We are collaborating with Big B’z from Brooklyn at the moment under our Executive Producer Rick Steel – there is more to come.
What’s current news with RackdUp?
We are currently in talks with a few venues in NY as well as shows in Vegas and LA – when they are confirmed we will announce them on our site.
