“No shirt, no shoes: No service.” That’s usually what you’ll find on the windows of most stores…but never the Wildwood boardwalk! In fact, it’s the norm to see shirtless and barefoot patrons all over the popular Jersey shore attraction, but that may soon come to an end. Wildwood officials are considering banning visitors from being anything but fully clothed, and the ordinance is scheduled for a vote on June 12th.
The new law would require the waistband of pants, shorts, bathing suits and skirts to be no lower than 3 inches below the waist, and shirts to be required from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
In a statement to the press, Wildwood Mayor Ernie Troiano Jr. said the proposed law came about because he’s tired of complaints about people who “walk around with their butts hanging out.”
