The NBA is filled with all sorts of wacky fashion impressers, who, of course sometimes fail to really, well, impress. Take, um, Russell Westbrook’s unframed lenses and gone-fishing shirt, or Nick Young’s atrocious colorful attire, the list goes on and on with stars attempting to make their mark—fashion wise—and it’s a hit or miss. Celtics guard Rajon Rondo has had his very own fair share of criticism for his peculiar wardrobe selections on game-day or in front of the media, but that certainly hasn’t stopped the man from further trying his hand at the fine arts of fashion. According to Yahoo Sports [per GQ's Mark Anthony Green], Rando, while in New York for Fashion Week (okay, yeah) will be trying to up his chops not on the hardwood floor but in a GQ Fashion room.
Fashion Week is our busiest time of year–between the shows, presentations and, ya know, posing. We needed a little help, someone to run point back at home base and on the ground floor at Lincoln Center. Who better than NBA All-star—and all around stylish dude—Rajon Rondo? Rajon will be interning at GQ for the next few days, helping our game out and learning a thing or two about menswear and the magazine industry. You’ll see interviews, critiques, and blog post from the future hall-of-famer popping up all week. And from the tip-off of his time on our team, it doesn’t seem like he left his competitive instinct back in Beantown. Other interns, beware.
