6-year old Jack Pinto was one of the many killed in Friday’s tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT. The young boy was an avid Giants fan, and will even be buried in player Victor Cruz’s jersey. When Cruz got word of this, he immediately reached out to the family to do what he can to help.
Following their brief call on Saturday, Cruz honored Jack’s memory in Sunday’s game by wearing his name on his cleats and later this week, he’ll be traveling to Newtown to give them to Jack’s family.
It’s not going to stop there, as he plans to continue to help with the family in any way he can. “We may do a fundraiser, something like that,” he told Yahoo! Sports. “For now all we want to do is comfort the family. We’ll think about other things we can do to help in the long term.”
