Amar’e Stoudemire’s knee surgery early in the regular season kept him off the court for some time, but he made a return after New Year’s day. However, this was cut short by even more knee surgery in mid-March, and he wasn’t able to return until Game 3 of the Knicks playoff series against the Indiana Pacers. This too would prove to be short-lived, as coach Mike Woodson opted to bench Amar’e for the second half of the remaining two games before the Knicks were eliminated. Naturally, he’s not too happy about it.
“We didn’t give it a chance,” he said after the Game 6 loss. “We need to understand exactly what my style of play is and what I bring to the table. It’s something I have to sit down with Coach Woody and express to him.”
Hopefully next season will prove better for the Knicks star!
