Carmelo Anthony was the star of the #Knickstape last night, after his nine 3-pointers throughout their game with the Atlanta Hawks helped the Knicks score a 106-104 victory.
The Hawks had a 104-103 lead with 1:34 remaining, but then Josh Smith committed two turnovers — a backcourt violation and a questionable offensive foul with 22 seconds left. The Knicks then called a timeout, and Melo came back on the court and isolated on Smith and drove left, converting a layup and drawing a foul. Those two factors gave the Knicks what they needed to take it home.
“That’s the longest shot I’ve ever looked at,” Anthony said. “He had a wide-open shot.”
