Amar’e Stoudemire has had anything but a stellar season with his team this past year, with injuries and surgeries taking away a majority of his time on the court. Now as the Knicks look ahead to the 2013-14 season, they’re unsure as to the fate of their highest paid player.
“I haven’t made that decision,” Knicks coach Mike Woodson said when asked if Amar’e would start next season. “I’ll have this summer to kind of evaluate where I go with that. First things first, he’s got to come back healthy.”
Knicks general manager Glen Grunwald said he is “hopeful” that Amar’e will be healthy, but if not, they may place him on a “minutes restriction” like they did in the playoffs.
