Brian Wilson may soon find a home on the NY Mets. ESPN is reporting that the three-time All-Star worked out privately for Mets’ GM Sandy Alderson on Saturday at UCLA. Their source says the Mets would willingly sign him to a minor league deal right now, but it doesn’t seem likely he’d agree to it, so negotiations will soon ensue.
From 2008 through 2011, Wilson allowed only 15.1% of inherited runners to score, which gave him the best rate in the majors, so this would be a positive move for the Mets should it go through.
